Moving Advice NEEDED!
Moving across the country sounded like a great idea...until now...figuring out logistics really hurts my head. What is the best way to go? Truck the stuff myself? Hire a moving company? Go with a pod? Ship it all on a pallet? Right now I'm leaning toward just going with the clothes on my back! But I have lots of friends who've made the cross-country move...so what did YOU find the most cost-efficient & headache-less? I'm eager to hear your thoughts.
Thank you in advance.

Gimpy Gertie
My baby has a broken leg!
I finally got home from my extended stay in the Canyon yesterday, & my days off have been anything but relaxing. I hadn't been home long enough to even shower & change out of my work clothes before Mom & I were driving Gertie down to the Pet Hospital! Don't worry, didn't get back til midnight.
She was playing with Pete (Mom's dog) as usual & something weird happened where she stopped the circle chase abruptly & Pete smashed into her then landed on top of her?? We think. Then the crying started! It was the saddest sound I ever heard, & I was so glad my mom was there to help me take care of her.

Doc showing me the x-ray. Bad news bearers
All 4 digits are broken! 5 fractures total. Vet said, "Wow, Gertie!"
Just got my baby back, she's stoned on morphine here. But I love the heart!!
Went to see Grandma for some late night lovin
So I guess this means she gets out of running with me for the next month. Bonus for her.
Gussy Up
A typical phrase to hear on the ranch is "Cowboy Up!"
Basically it means when you don't want to do something, jump in & do it anyway.
Well each night at the beloved Bar 10, we voluntarily submit ourselves to humiliation. We darn our Western garb, smile, & sing & dance for any number of strangers (a new group each night).
Those who know me know that I don't care to put much effort into my hair & make-up when it's only good for an hour. But each night I take a deep breath & Gussy Up anyway. I counted myself lucky one night when I asked my co-worker, Kendra, to do my hair for me & without batting an eye she said, "Yep!"
Then Aprily did Chantelle's hair...and all was well. Such angels.

Deserted in the desert
I was supposed to be back in civilization today.
It's just a part of the job hazards when your transportation is a little 19 seater plane, & the wind is blowing 50 mph, & you can't see the walls of the Canyon only 10 miles in the distance...you're pretty much stuck right where you are.
It's lucky though when you're stranded with your big brother & can work & play together to make the day go quick & enjoy yourselves.
Of course, the weather cleared up BEAUTIFULLY once the flight was cancelled.
But I got to spend one more gorgeous day in the Grand Canyon, so I'm not really complaining...

Back at the Ranch
I'm spending my summer at the Bar 10 Ranch. Home sweet home (?) I completed my 1st week yesterday, & am leaving for my 2nd in the morning. Some moments I thought I must be crazy to be back, others weren't so bad, some were really fun! A lot of fun memories came back to me though, & I loved all of those.
The only time I took my camera out was on our trip to Whitmore Point. I'll share some pics of the beautiful scenery.
